Job Summary: The Curator of Paleontology is responsible for management of paleontology collections for scientific research and public education/outreach programs; manage research at Harrell Station paleontology site; teach course(s) in related field; and write grant proposals to support collections expansion.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Geology or Biology with specialization in Paleontology and one (1) year of college level teaching experience.


Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report as determined by the insurance carrier.


Skills and Knowledge: Acknowledged record of scientific achievement. Must have the ability to relate well to the public; establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, researchers, and professional community; be self motivated; and capable of working independently on a variety of assignments. Should have knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, use of equipment and demonstrated ability to use common computer programs. Should be comfortable working in an outdoor setting.
