Department/Organization: 505102 - Parking Administration


Normal Work Schedule: This is a 4 night, 10 hour shift and includes weekends.


Job Summary: Under moderate supervision, the Traffic Maintenance Technician assists in maintaining parking facilities and Campus roadways and facilitates traffic flow within the University.


Additional Department Summary: This position is responsible for the installation and maintenance of traffic and parking signage, pavement markings, and regulatory markings on curbs and sidewalks. This position also assists with Athletic and other special events on Campus.


Required Minimum Qualifications: A high school diploma or GED and 1 year of experience.


Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Ability to use the tools and equipment of the job. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Ability to walk for extended periods of time during various weather conditions. Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report as determined by the insurance carrier. Final candidates who are not current University of Alabama employees must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.


Skills and Knowledge: Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions. Basic math skills. Basic knowledge in the usage of personal computers and or handheld devices


Preferred Qualifications: Prefer certified forklift operator. Preferred work experience: automobile maintenance, working outdoors, warehouse, automotive retail, stocking/receiving, construction, or other manual labor role.
